LEICA FS C  AND FS4000 COMPARISON MICROSCOPES

LEICA FS C COMPARISON MICROSCOPE
LEICA FS4000 COMPARISON MICROSCOPE

We are pleased to announce the NEW Leica FS C for toolmark/firearm/questioned document examinations and the NEW Leica FS4000 for trace evidence comparison.  These new application system innovations establish a new level of performance, convenience and comfort that has never before been realized in comparison microscopy for the forensic laboratory.
Leica’s innovative intelligent automation leads the technology improvements, with a coded nosepiece, motorized z drive with magnification correlated speeds and lamp intensity.  The new stands are designed for the digital imaging age and have advanced ergonomics that go beyond users’ expectations.  There are so many unique features, with truly important user benefits, that Leica establishes a NO COMPARISON position in the market.  The new Leica FS C and FS4000 represent a convenient platform that provides increased reproducibility and improved accuracy while increasing the individual examiner’s efficiency.
The Leica FS C Comparison Microscope makes it easy to achieve superior, reproducible images with all new telecentric objectives, which provide the highest resolution in the industry.  The system’s built-in 1.5x magnification changer expands the magnification range from 4x to 60x and provides up to 8 discrete magnification settings to assure measurement reproducibity.  The user calibrates once, and the exact objective measurement remains for the next time so that samples are examined under identical conditions. The Leica FS C is convenient to use, and through the automation of essential functions, the user can carry out complex tasks with ease. For example, intelligent automation adjusts the speed of x, y, z movement based on the objective magnification in use. The central control module is conveniently located between the stages and provides easy access to synchronize stage movement in the x-y-z directions, control lamp intensity, comparison bridge positioning, and magnification changer.  A single button switches from the superimposed image to side-by-side examination.PC interface, digital camera documentation and reproducible specimen and microscope settings provide fast and accurate analysis.  Leica’s IM1000 software offers an image database that features a comparison module as well as a report module.  The multi-focus module calculates a two dimensional picture from several images.  Leica considers user comfort in every new microscope system. The entirely new comparison bridge design integrates a tilting binocular tube to accommodate examiners of all statures and facilitate easy reach and a natural body position.  The automation and motorization allows remote positioning of stage and focus controls for the ultimate comfort.
